Mission: To Minimize Youth-On-Youth Violence and Their Involvement in the Justice System.
Palabra offers community based prevention programs for at-risk, underserved Latino youth as well as adults who are reentering the community from incarceration. Palabra’s youth program has four phases and is focused on building community, establishing mentorships, providing time for self-reflection, and identifying aspirations and goals. Palabra’s adult program is conducted one-on-one with Program Staff and is focused on developing personal and work related skills to live healthy, independent lives.
Programs are designed to be dynamic and always evolving to the needs of its constituents as well as current issues in the community.
Palabra’s team is composed of an Executive Director, Westside Program Coordinator, Eastside Program Coordinator, Goleta/Isla Vista Program Coordinator and Carpinteria Program Coordinator.
